Our Standards
We write from experience and research, not guesswork. Every article draws on established, widely accepted guidance from veterinary and animal behavior sources, combined with what we’ve learned firsthand from raising four huskies over more than two decades. When we’re not certain about something, we say so, and we point you toward professionals rather than pretending to have every answer.
We favor real, actionable advice over filler. If an article doesn’t help you make a decision, care for your dog more confidently, or understand your dog a little better, we don’t publish it. We’d rather cover fewer topics well than pad out a list to hit a round number.
We update content when our understanding improves. Animal care guidance evolves. When new information changes how we think about a topic, we go back and revise the article rather than leaving outdated advice live.
We separate opinion from established fact. Where something is a matter of personal experience or preference, such as a grooming routine that worked well for our own dogs, we say so plainly instead of presenting it as universal fact.
What SaveAPaw Is Not
We are not a veterinary practice, and nothing on this site should be treated as a diagnosis or a substitute for professional veterinary care. If your dog is sick, injured, or showing signs of a serious behavioral issue, please contact a licensed veterinarian or certified trainer. We’ll always tell you when a topic falls into that category and point you toward getting professional help.

Our Position on Adoption
We’re upfront that SaveAPaw has a point of view: we believe adoption should be the first option any family considers before buying from a breeder or a pet store, and we believe puppy mills cause real harm to the dogs that come from them. That perspective shows up throughout our content, but it doesn’t stop us from giving honest, practical advice to owners regardless of where their dog came from. A dog that’s already part of your family deserves the same good information either way.
